In 2015, we were recommended to The Sara Lee Trust to help them develop a shop in Ninfield Road, Sidley, which also had an office building in it’s rear yard.
The existing shop had a lean-to kitchen/staff room at the rear which was unsuitable for future use. We were asked to produce drawings to show how they could extend in a cost effective way to provide a larger staff room and toilet, whilst maintaining or even increasing the shop area. The plans were approved by the Planning Department and the building was constructed in October.
The Trust asked us to produce plans to extend and convert the office building into a building which could be used as a Therapy Centre. In June 2016 they managed to buy some land behind the building, this provided space to allow for a larger extension to be built, but more importantly a walled garden area so that those using the therapy centre could have a space to sit and reflect and generally spend some time to themselves.
Planning permission was granted in October 2016, the plans passed through Building Control shortly after allowing work to start towards the end of 2016. Without any delays the building was opened to the public on 15th July 2017.
