Two Storey Side Extension to follow boundary

Project Description

We were instructed to design an extension to a recently constructed dwelling to provide an additional bedroom and enlarged family bathroom at first floor level. At ground floor level they wished to improve their dining area and create a separate utility room which could also be used for their dog to sleep in.

Because of the angle of their garden fence, it seemed logical to build the extension at an angle so that it didn’t encroach on their narrow garden too much. This reflected the style of another dwelling fronting the main road, which also had an angle to it.

A Planning Application was submitted and subsequently approved with no issues, allowing us to work up the drawings to comply with Building Regulations and involve an engineer to design to superstructure in a cost effective way.

The build was completed in June 2017.
